Seagulls by the Seashore

by Kimberly J Tilley

What do seagulls do by the seashore? Well, they play. They splash, squawk, practice their flying, and wait for food.  😀  We took a drive on part of the seacoast this past Sunday.  We drove the shoreline of New Castle down past Rye Harbor and Hampton Beach.  This time of the year is one of the best times to go and visit the beaches of New England.  It is still chilly and windy, so you should bring a sweater and pin your hair back.  In just a couple of months the beaches and streets will be crowded with people.

During our drive up New Hampshire’s small coast line we stopped to view the lighthouses that can be viewed from Fort Constitution.  On the mainland is the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse, and out in the ocean on the rock island is Whale Back Lighthouse. And that is Maine’s land over there.
